There are plenty of activities to do in the area.
Traversing the reserve in a comfortable safari vehicle allows guests to cover large areas in search of Africa’s abundant wildlife, but for a true taste of Africa, nothing beats going on a foot safari through the bush.
At the local dam just outside the park, enjoy an afternoon of fun on the Morukuru boat, be it fishing, water skiing or soaking up the sun by the water. Starting the afternoon with a braai for lunch at the water’s edge will set the scene for a time of fun with the whole family. As the sun sets across the water filling the sky with indescribably beautiful colours, enjoy one last drink before heading back to Villa Morukuru.
Experience the thrill of catching your own fish and then setting it free again. The Marico River, which runs through Morukuru, is the largest natural source of water in the province, pumping one million litres per day: the river is clean and the fishing is good, though as any fishermen knows, patience will be required! Species you may encounter at the end of your line include yellowfish, catfish, bream, eel, papermouth, three spotted tilapia and carp. If you (or younger members of the family) have never tried their hand at fishing, your ranger will be on hand to provide guidance.
