Kea is the "entrance" of Cyclades as it is the closest Cycladic island to Attica. When guests arrive from abroad via aeroplane, there are 3 options to transfer to Villa Nomios when they reach El. Venizelos airport (Athens airport):
Take a taxi or a car (25 minutes' drive) to Lavrio port where 2 boats are connected to Kea island. It takes only 1 hour by boat to reach the island. Once guests reach the island, car hire is recommended for the 20 minute drive to the villa. The villa is 15 km from Kea's port.
Pre-book a private yacht from Lavrio Marina. Take a taxi or a car (25 minutes' drive) to Lavrio marina, and sail to Kea island (a 30-minute journey, approximately, depending on yachts' speed.)
Reserve a helicopter from Athens airport and fly directly to villa Nomios within 15 minutes. Due to the villa having a helipad, this is the easiest and fastest way to arrive.
The villa is located in Pera Meria where the 2 most beautiful virgin beaches are: Spathi (4 km) and Sykamia (5km). It is also very close to Kato Meria where the ancient city of "Karthaia" is located, with all of its amazing temples and columns. Visitors can rent a small yacht and take a daily cruise to visit all the wonderful beaches and the surrounding areas, including Karthaia, or perhaps one of Kea's old ancient cities from the Cycladic civilization. Plus, the shipwrecks are perfect for people who love diving!
Kea is one of the least known islands of the Cyclades Archipelago, and this is to the benefit of the locals and of the discerning travellers who are keen on having a full immersion in the local culture.
The island provides a peaceful retreat, and whilst there may not be vast long stretches of beaches, as in more popular tourist spots, Kea’s beaches are perfect for families and relaxed couples, and since the island is usually overlooked by many tourists, this creates an authentic experience for any traveller here.
There are no tourist hotspots, no touts plying their wares, instead guests will find privacy in the scores of coves dotted along the shore, and a peaceful retreat to admire the view, relax in the waves and top up their tan. Located on the North-east side of Kea, in one of the most beautiful areas full of oak trees (natura protected) and it is very easy for guests to visit the nearest islands, like Andros, Tinos, Syros, Kythnos, Serifos, via a hired yacht.
