An idyllic retreat in the Italian countryside, steeped in history and charm.

Masseria Trapana, this restored 16th century farmhouse, has been lovingly restored into a modern luxury villa, perfect for up to 18 guests to escape to the Italian countryside.
Set upon 60 hectares of citrus and olive groves, and with six sprawling gardens, this idyllic haven is an ideal retreat for large families and groups of friends to take some much needed rest in one of nine gloriously well-appointed suites.

This luxury boutique escape is the perfect location for guests to be immersed in the lifestyle and they can spend time enthralled at the authentic frescoes, historical artefacts and original features of the farmhouse.

Guests can make use of the outdoor space, basking in the Italian sunshine on the sun loungers, or having a refreshing dip in the private pool, or take a walk through the gardens and groves. Featuring a wonderful charming bijou chapel onsite, guests can immerse themselves in a little history with authentic frescoes, as well as marvelling at the intricate blend between the traditional Italian architecture and design, with state-of-the-art and contemporary style. The soft furnishing and plush sofas are inviting, juxtaposed against the bare brick walls, but soft lighting and chic light fittings make it feel homely and welcoming.

The contemporary kitchen is a wonderful aspect of this farmhouse, with extraordinary floor-to-ceiling windows, letting in an abundance of light, and highlighting the breakfast bar along the centre of the room. With views out onto the gardens, guests can relax with their morning coffee watching the birds outside, with a cool breeze flowing through the windows.

The bedrooms are equally alluring in their simplicity, with the focal point being on the elegant bed frames, and sumptuous bed linens, again with bare brick walls, giving a traditional feel throughout. Taking inspiration from Thailand and Bali, many of the suites feature outdoor bathrooms, or private terraces, all rooms have a contemporary en-suite bathroom.

All in all, with the charming surroundings, enchanting gardens, glorious pool and terraces, this quaint farmhouse just outside of Lecce is the perfect place for families to come together, socialise and spend well-earned time together.

Located in Italy’s southern Apulia region, Lecce is well known for its baroque buildings and The Basilica di Santa Croce, which features incredible sculptures and a rose window. With a lot of Lecce accessible on foot, it seems the most popular way of sightseeing is to walk and become immersed in the city, which is the best way to see everything, including the little side streets and the many churches. In the central Piazza del Duomo, visitors can find the Cattedrale di Lecce with its double facade and a bell tower, whilst nearby are the Sant’Oronzo Column, a Roman column topped with a bronze statue of the city’s patron saint, and the sunken Roman amphitheatre.

For guests seeking authentic nightlife (or ‘la movida’) Porta San Biaggio is the place to be, known as the city’s “French quarter,’ where sociable crowds fill the streets from bars and restaurants, engaged in night life, gossip, people-watching and general entertainment.
