With private sea access, this nine-bedroomed property enjoys amazing terraces and gardens
This unique property with a swimming pool and expansive views of the sea, is situated on the island of Capri and stands out for its unique location (the only villa with private sea access from Capri), history and outstanding interior. According to legend, the composer Bizet, while vacationing here was so inspired by the sounds of the sea that he composed one of his most famous pieces, Carmen. On the same grounds, Caesar Augustus built his palace by the sea. Some of its remains can still be seen in parts of the property.
The luxury property enjoys an incomparable view of the Peninsula of Sorrento, Mount Vesuvius, and the Bay of Naples. Capri, with the port of Marina Grande, Villa Lysis, and the townhouses of this village can be seen from the gardens. On the opposite side of the property, the view opens up towards the hillside of Monte Solaro and the bright white Fenicia stairs of Villa San Michele, just where the village of Anacapri starts.
Being immersed in a beautiful garden and having amazing terraces, Villa Camelia is a treasure waiting to be explored. The garden’s appearance changes according to the season, but no matter the period, you can wander through the English garden with stone sculptures, and the pines, oaks and palm trees will always enchant you. Guests will be delighted to taste the freshly picked tomatoes, eggplants, courgettes, fresh herbs, basil, or hot peppers, depending on the season.
The terrace offers amazing views and is furnished with cast-iron tables, lounge chairs, and benches where guests can enjoy the sounds of the sea and listen with pleasure to the boats passing by. A panoramic path of about 150 steps leads from the garden down to the sea, passing through a pleasant, wooded area of olive trees and Mediterranean herbs. The path leads to a private sundeck, platform, and boat dock. The area is furnished with loungers, umbrellas, while beach towels and cold drinks and snacks can be stocked in the refrigerator and kitchenette located at sea level.
Villa Camelia enjoys great common areas where family or friends can gather.
