Situated just outside of Florence, this impressive estate ideally located in the heart of Chianti’s countryside is a great base for exploring the towns and cities of Tuscany.
Dating back to the 14th century, Dimora Ghirlandaio is a charming estate comprising of a hamlet and a farm which produces excellent quality DOP olive oil.
Guests will totally unwind in this picturesque setting having the rolling green hills as a backdrop and being surrounded by 30 acres of vineyards, olive groves, a forest and a lake.
The outdoor areas are designed with the utmost relaxation in mind including two swimming pools (one can be heated on request), gardens and panoramic walkways, each of them more beautiful than the other.
This magnificent property is depicting the true essence of Tuscany, being previously owned by one of the most famous Renaissance family of painters. Apart from gathering the whole family, the estate used to host some of the most well known artists of Renaissance such as Raffaello, Pontormo and Botticelli.
Spreading over five buildings and hosting up to 44 guests in its 20 bedrooms, Dimora Ghirlandaio is an amazing location for organising weddings, corporate events or celebrating some of the most important moments with the loved ones. The frescoed chapel painted by Ridolfo del Ghirlandaio is the perfect spot for organizing the wedding ceremony.
There are plenty of common areas where guests can gather or relax including beautiful lounges with fireplaces, a wellness area with Turkish bath, Sauna, Jacuzzi and an emotional shower.
The interior has been totally refurbished using antique furniture and keeping its old charm complemented by luxury finishing touches.
The main house overlooks the pool and the garden spreading over 3 floors. On the ground floor there are two living rooms, a dining room that can accommodate up to 12 people and a fully equipped kitchen. The sleeping area consists of five bedrooms. The master bedroom is the only room on the top floor and it has a 360° magnificent view over the whole property and over Florence. The Villa also has a dependence that is ideal for accommodating a person of the staff.
The farmhouse features four suites, all of them located on the top floor. The ground floor has a living room and a room dedicated to wine or olive oil tastings, a study and the chapel.
Bottega is the place where the family used to expose their art. Today this building features a large and comfortable living room and two en-suite bedrooms.
The frantoio, where the owners used to make the olive oil is now composed of two living rooms and 3 bedrooms one of which shares the bathroom with the main bedroom. This buildings also features an external dependence with an extra bedroom with bathroom.
The study is the place where the family used to paint and has been transformed in small villa with a living room and four bedrooms one of which shares its bathroom with the main bedroom of the edifice.
Dimora Ghirlandaio ticks all the boxes for an unforgettable holiday away from the hustle and bustle, totally immersed in the Italin way of living.
Dimora Ghirlandaio was also the ancient residence of the most famous family of painters during the Renaissance period, and proudly accommodates an in-house Artist. He is a well-known American painter/printmaker and his work can be found in private collections and galleries around the world, as well as in the Prints and Drawings Collection of the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. He stays in a separate, private quarter of the Estate and only shares the main entrance with our Guests. He has no access to any of the buildings nor open spaces occupied by our Guests.

Dimora Ghirlandaio is situated south of Florence, in the rolling hills of Tuscany, between Impruneta and Scandicci.
The villa affords some of the most stunning views including the Dome of Brunelleschi’s Santa Maria del Fiore, the Chianti hills and the vineyards.
Florence is around 13 km away, whilst Siena and the beautiful villages of San Casciano, Colle Val d’Elsa and Monteriggioni are also within easy reach.
