This property offers mesmerizing views of the Caribbean Sea, an infinity pool, and a unique atmosphere
Immersed in lush tropical forests and gardens, this property is one of the most desired on the exclusive Mustique Island. Set on a hill, Plantation House blends colonial elegance with the Caribbean style. It has been designed by Arne Hasselquist who designed a number of villas on the island and was recently featured in Architectural Digest.
The 270 degree views are commanding and the property is surrounded by terraces so that guest can enjoy waking up every morning and seeing the sea.
Designed after the colonial style plantations in South Carolina as opposed to the Caribbean gingerbread style houses, this impressive villa has many classical qualities. The owner, an art historian, had strong ideas about the refurbishment with the principal themes being symmetry, scale, and proportion. The property is decorated in the Swedish style and boasts elegant furnishings, classic fabrics, and wooden floors.
The estate has great outside dining areas for al-fresco dining or just relaxing over a glass of Champagne and hearing the sounds of nature. There are also two indoor dining rooms, a library, an entertainment room, and a lovely inner courtyard. There is a separate private guest cottage that has two bedrooms with bathrooms, dressing rooms, and a kitchenette. This is ideal for a couple who would like to have their children next door to them.
The outside area is very impressive with lovely large terraces, amazing views, and an elegant infinity pool. The adjacent dining terrace is situated overlooking the southern coast of Mustique.

Mustique is the third largest island in the Grenadines, 20 kilometres south of St Vincent.
Fifty years ago, Mustique Island was bought by Lord Glennconner and, after he offered a plot to Princess Margaret, the island started to receive interest from the media. It soon seemed like a good idea to build a hotel and later on to establish a design concept for the island as a whole. The island’s character is very well preserved.
Mustique offers guests the liberty to choose whether they want to explore the area or just stay in the comfort of their private villa.
There is so much to do on this island that each guest will be delighted and will decide to return. From going to one of the legendary house parties where guests from different villas can get to know each other to scuba diving or sailing, horse riding or playing tennis, you can be as active as you wish on this magical island. Or why not be pampered with a spa treatment or relax by the swimming pool?
There are two bodies of water surrounding Mustique: the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. The main beach is Macaroni Bay and it has lovely waves and a grass area in which to picnic. The other is Lagoon Beach, which is on the quieter Caribbean Sea. It is perfect for very small children and again has the perfect picnic area just in front of the lagoon. There is a path from this beach to the secluded Geliceaux Bay, which you can only reach by foot following the rocky path to the left. There are many other beaches on the island. Picnics are possible on any of the beaches. The best is Lagoon Beach where there is a barbeque that you can use.
Mustique Island is ideal for families, for its privacy and security, so parents can truly relax while their children are having fun with their new friends or in the care of a babysitter. This place is also amazing for spending time with friends, organising lifetime events or spending time with loved one away from the crowds where you can reconnect with nature and yourself. Many visitors are so charmed by island life, the unequivocal hospitality and friendliness of the staff, and the sense of wellbeing this holiday island gives them that they fall under its spell, only to return every year.
