Located in the beautiful Apulian city of Ostuni, Villa Merlata offers a luxurious home-from-home for up to eight guests. With panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and olive groves, and a distinct Mediterranean feel, the villa is perfect for a relaxing retreat with loved ones.
Set over 10000 square metres of land, the property boasts expansive gardens filled with olive trees and native Apulian flora, along with beautifully-manicured lawns.
A large swimming pool is surrounded by a paved stone terrace, offering plenty of space for guests to relax in the sunshine. Guests can laze on the poolside sun loungers, relax in the shaded outdoor lounge area, or enjoy barbecues and al fresco feasts in the fully-equipped outdoor kitchen and dining space. Younger guests will love the children’s playground and the table tennis set.
The villa is built to a classic design with dry stone walls, and is set over a single floor, making it accessible to wheelchairs or those with limited mobility. It features bright, country chic interiors with all the modern comforts, including air conditioning and Wi-Fi throughout.
Guests can relax in open-plan living room, which boasts comfortable sofas surrounding a stone fireplace and a flat screen TV. Adjoining the living room is a fully-equipped kitchen complete with a handcrafted wooden breakfast table.
Each of the four bedrooms is spacious and well-appointed, with en-suite facilities, and two boast direct terrace access. There are three double rooms and one twin, though this can also be set up as a double if desired. One of the rooms has independent access for added privacy.

Villa Merlata is located just outside the hilltop city of Ostuni in Apulia. Set over multiple levels with small alleyways and staircases, Ostuni is home to whitewashed houses, quaint boutiques selling local olive oil and historic architecture, including a stunning 15th century cathedral. There are plenty of top restaurants, trendy cafes, and piazza-side tables to enjoy a glass of local wine or two.
Nearby Ceglie Messapica is well worth a visit. As one of the oldest towns in Apulia – dating back to the 15th century BC - it has a well-preserved historic centre, ancient churches, and a beautiful castle to explore. The town is also well-known for its gastronomy with plenty of excellent restaurants to choose from.
The stunning beaches of the Adriatic are also a short drive away for those who wish to explore the coast.
