A hidden gem in the heart of the Costa Brava countryside, with spectacular views and a slow-living ethos.
Mas Oms is a beautifully-restored 14th-century Catalan farmhouse set on 25 acres of land within the Gavarres Nature Reserve in the Costa Brava countryside. With breathtaking views over the valley below and a focus on slow living, this luxury villa is ideal for an eco escape or a wellness retreat.
Century-old cork oaks and vibrant wildflowers line the path to the villa, creating a warm welcome for guests. Upon entering the property via the stone archway, lush gardens welcome guests and a heated infinity pool overlooks the tree-strewn valley below. Post-dip, guests can soak up the sun from a poolside lounger or relax with a refreshing drink under the shade of a pergola.
The multiple terraces and patios throughout the grounds offer plenty of space for outdoor living and soaking up the views. Fragrant rosemary and lavender bushes surround a shaded dining area, ideal for casual barbecues and al fresco meals using local produce and freshly-picked vegetables from the villa’s organic garden.
With wellness a key focus at this countryside villa, the Mediterranean gardens are scattered with peaceful hideaways and zen spaces. Hammocks are slung between trees, perfect for an afternoon nap, whilst tree swings and carefully-placed benches are perfect for quiet contemplation or enjoying a holiday read. Guests can also enjoy yoga classes and guided meditation sessions to soothe the mind and body or relish an encounter with nature with a visit to the villa’s two resident sheep.
Although artfully renovated and restored, the villa still has a charmingly rustic feel in keeping with its rich history. An antique, hand-carved wooden door opens to rough stone floors and vaulted ceilings, immersing guests in centuries of history. They will encounter many carefully-selected artworks throughout the halls, including sculptures, portraits, and a piano that the musically inclined will delight in.
The villa is spread over three floors, offering plenty of space to relax and entertain. The main living area on the ground floor features solid wood parquet flooring made from the staves of wine barrels. It comprises a cosy lounge, a spacious dining area with restaurant-style seating, and a crackling fireplace for the cooler months.
At the far end of the living area is a bar, perfect for enjoying the villa’s selection of natural wines or some delicious tapas. A gourmet kitchen adjoins the bar area, fully equipped for preparing delicious garden-to-table meals.
On a mezzanine floor, there is a second living area with a well-stocked library and a play area with a selection of board games to entertain all ages.
The villa also has a massage and spa treatment room for pure relaxation. Guests can enjoy a range of treatments from Thai and ayurvedic massage, reiki sessions, and access bar therapy sessions. Moreover, the villa offers unique wellness activities, including life coaching sessions and essential oil workshops.
Two suites and four bedrooms are located on the ground and first floors. Each suite has one king-size and one twin bedroom with a shared lounge, bathroom and terrace, ideal for families with children. The four bedrooms have either king or queen-size beds and en-suite facilities. All rooms are supplied with luxurious natural bed linens, natural bath products, and essential oil diffusers, creating a relaxed ambience.
With its stunning location, excellent amenities, and range of activities, Villa Mas Oms is the perfect luxury villa for an unforgettable holiday with loved ones, or a wellness retreat, surrounded by the verdant countryside of the Costa Brava.
