Casares is a quiet little village, based in Southern Malaga, and is a picturesque little town with a medieval fortress located atop the hill. With traditional houses, it is a pleasant village to wander through and take some impressive photographs.
Guests can pay a visit to Blas Infante birthplace, Iglesia de San Sebastian, near the square or climb up via Puerta Calle Arrabal, to Casares Castle. Banos de la Hedionda is a must see, for guests to explore the Ancient ruins and swim in the roman baths of Casares after a mud treatment: a treat for the complexion, if you can tolerate the sulphur aroma.
Further afield there are beaches such as the Playa de la Sal which allows dogs and are beautiful and well kept. Additionally, guests can take various hikes through the countryside either on foot, or via horseback with equestrian trails.
There is the Pilgrimage of Virgin de Rosario del Campo for guests that are visiting in May to witness. This starts at the church of San Sebastian, and travels 11km to the hermitage of Rosario del Campo on the other side of the River Genal.
For guests wishing to explore the Costa del Sol further, there are over 100 municipalities both inland and along the coast, and the variety of beaches are one of the main attractions. Famed for temperate climes throughout the year, and ideal for everyone, whether seeking activities or relaxation, there is something for everyone.
