Area
Courchevel 1850 has earned a reputation for being one of the world’s most glamourous and fashionable resorts, and has become the place to see and be seen - but it also has a lot more substance that just the glitz-factor.
Most importantly, the skiing is world class. Courchevel is part of the vast Three Valleys ski area, which extends across the Meribel and Val Thorens valleys, making it the world’s largest ski area.
Being so large, every type and style of run can be found in the Three Valleys, from steep and hard core, to cruisy blues and everything in between. The area generally has good snow reliability, helped by the high altitude of the area and Courchevel’s northerly aspect.
Courchevel and the Three Valleys have a modern and efficient lift system so even if there are queues at busy periods, they tend to move fairly fast. There is also some of the best snow-making facilities in the Alps keeping many runs open very late in the season.
Courchevel is a good option for families as there is a wide selection of gentle slopes close to hand and there are several ski school options.
