The perfect mix of incredible skiing and vibrant nightlife in the Espace Killy ski area
Originally a small alpine farming village, Val d'Isere has continued to develop into a modern alpine resort whilst maintaining its village feel and sense of tradition.
Along with neighbouring resort Tignes, Val d’Isere is part of the Espace Killy ski region, offering over 300 km of piste to explore, from gentle green runs to steep off-piste terrain, making it one of the largest ski areas in the French Alps.
Though Val d’Isere is best-suited to intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders, recent years have seen great development on the nursery slopes. The resort also boasts over 20 different ski schools, for families and beginners to choose from.
Val d’Isere is well-known for having one of the best après and nightlife scenes in the Alps. From rooftop musicians at the on-piste La Folie Douce, to laid-back drinks at the Moris pub, to late night dancing at A-lister favourite Dick’s Tea Bar, visitors will never be short of a place to let their hair down after a day on the slopes.
The ski season runs from November to late-April/early May, making it one of the most snow-sure and sought-after resorts in Europe.
