A beautiful alpine chalet with character and traditional charm

Chalet Lafitenia is located 5 minutes from the centre of Val d’Isere in a private enclave with uninterrupted views down the Manchet Valley and Vanoise National Park.

The chalet combines luxury and comfort with traditional Savoyard features, honey-coloured beams and cosy bedrooms, creating a sense of alpine charm and comfort.

The chalet sleeps 12 guests in 6 en-suite bedrooms with baths or shower rooms, and most of the bedrooms have access to a private terrace or balcony. All of the bedrooms are spacious and light, with south-facing windows capturing the view of the rolling mountains.

The living space in Lafitenia is spacious with an open plan dining and living area, large windows overlooking the valley and an open fireplace to curl up in front of with a hot chocolate after a long day on the slopes.

The chalet has a home cinema and is well equipped with books, games and toys to keep all ages entertained – especially the little ones. There is also a study area with computer and Wi-Fi throughout.

In the evening, the private chauffeur will collect all guests and take them back to the chalet where afternoon tea and cakes will be served. Lafitenia has not one, but two outdoor Jacuzzis and a sauna for relaxation in the evenings. One top tip is to sit back and enjoy a glass of sparkling champagne under the starry sky whilst the in-house private chef cooks up a 5 course culinary delight in the kitchen, with all meals tailored to guest requirements.

Chalet Lafitenia

Area

Originally a small alpine farming village, Val d'Isere has continued to develop into a modern alpine resort whilst maintaining its village feel and sense of tradition.

This French ski resort remains popular offering some of the best skiing and boarding in the world. There are over 300km of marked pisted runs and unlimited off-piste skiing within the Espace Killy area, making it an ideal location for skiers and boarders of all abilities. Due to its location against the peaks of the Italian border, Val d'Isere's record of snowfall is exceptional. The snow coverage tends to be one of the best in Europe and conditions normally facilitate good skiing right to the end of the season (typically around the start of May). There are 96 lifts spreading ten miles across Val d’Isère and Tignes that can now carry 149,425 skiers per hour. Most of Val d’Isère’s lifts travel vertically rather than horizontally, meaning a lot of skiing down the mountain with just a short trip back up. With the resort’s height and excellent snow conditions, skiiers can generally ski back to the heart of the village right until the end of April/beginning of May (with care).

The centre and old town of Val d'Isere consist of stone and wooden-clad chalets which add to the cosy feel of the resort. In terms of nightlife, Val d'Isere is a top destination with a vibrant and lively atmosphere centred on the wide main street that runs the length of the town. Fashion shops, restaurants, cafés, bars and a cinema all line the busy high street offering plenty of choice and variety. More recently, there is an increasing emphasis being placed on the look and feel of Val d'Isere, and the centre of the resort is completely pedestrianised. In summer, a wide range of outdoor activities are available including 4 X 4 quad & trial biking, Arbre adventure (swinging through trees on zip lines, across monkey bridges, ladders & ropes), archery, canyoning, fishing, glacier & mountain walking, golf, horse riding and dozens of other activities for all ages and interests.
