A largely-unspoilt island surrounded by azure waters
Reached only by boat from nearby Corfu, Paxos is a beautiful Greek island that remains largely unspoilt. The smallest of the principal Ionian Islands, Paxos is known for its rolling olive groves, pretty farmhouses, secluded coves and dazzling blue waters.
The three main towns on Paxos are Gaios, Loggos and Lakka, all of which are easily navigable on foot. Capital Gaios is the largest and busiest town with a bustling central square, lively waterfront restaurants, and the island’s seaport. The smaller Lakka and Loggos both offer plenty of shops, restaurants and bars to enjoy without the crowds.
The east cost of the island is dotted with pebbly coves and family-friendly beaches, whilst the west coast features dramatic rocky cliffs with more rugged, choppy-water bays.
By boat, visitors can explore the less-accessible, private coves, visit the island’s stunning caves, or hop over to neighbouring island Antipaxos.
