Beautifully-restored farmhouse, perfectly blending Italian tradition and modern architecture and design
Set within 11 acres of ancient olive groves, Masseria Battimuro is a beautifully-restored 19th Century farmhouse, perfect for a luxury holiday in the beautiful region of Apulia. The property is comprised of three interconnected houses built with concrete, metal and salvaged remnants from the original structures, perfectly blending Italian tradition and history with contemporary architecture and design.
The houses surround a stunning courtyard paved with ancient stone slabs and featuring a huge mulberry tree offering shade along with a 21 metre swimming pool, perfect for a relaxing dip. There are plenty of outdoor relaxation spaces, including several terraces and private balconies on each house. Guests can enjoy al fresco meals cooked up in the outdoor kitchen or at the barbecue and served at one of the outdoor dining settings.
To help reduce its ecological footprint, the property features solar energy, an eco-friendly air cooling system, and insulation to keep the interiors cool in summer and warm in winter, plus a rainwater catchment to provide for fresh drinking water.
Throughout the three buildings there are two well-equipped kitchens, and three living areas, allowing guests to socialise as a group, or retreat to their own spaces for more privacy. The living spaces feature beautiful vaulted ceilings and are decorated with contemporary artworks, vintage furniture, and unique artefacts from around the world.
Throughout the three buildings, up to eight adults and two children can be accommodated; the main villa sleeps up to four in two double or twin bedrooms with en-suite facilities, including the master suite, which features a roof terrace; the Old Farmhouse guest house can sleep two adults in the original 19th Century bedroom, plus two children in built-in bunk beds; and the Old Stable guest house has one bedroom that can be set up as a double or twin to sleep two guests. For groups with young children, two additional children’s beds can be provided.
For guests looking for a secluded property with spacious grounds and outdoor entertaining spaces, and interiors that allow for a social atmosphere and privacy, Masseria Battimuro is the ideal choice.
