One of the most famous and stunning mansions on Lake Como
As one of the most impressive and magnificent properties on Lake Como, Villa Sola Cabiati was once the beloved summer residence of the Serbelloni Dukes, dating back to the 1500s, when the villa’s central body was commissioned. Two lateral wings were added in 1700s, like the baroque rounded tympana and balconies to the façade. This grand villa was refurbished in 2005. It retains original furniture and furnishings, frescoed ceilings, damask-covered walls, impressively sized and bright living rooms, and a timeless, classic elegance.
The stunning lakeside villa remains owned by the original family and houses a museum. You can arrive either by boat or by helicopter and, whichever way, you immediately will be in awe of the beauty and grandeur of this property. On entering the grounds through gilded lakeside gates, you are welcomed by wonderful formal gardens.
The villa offers six beautifully refurbished bedrooms and can accommodate up to 12 guests in great comfort and supreme style. Although all the rooms have been refurbished and equipped with the latest in comfort and technology, the original style remains intact.
You will breathe in history whilst you relax in the sumptuous comfort of atmospheric living rooms and dine in the grand formal dining room. Less informal meals and breakfast can be taken around the kitchen table, before heading out to enjoy the beautiful grounds. Tucked away in a secluded corner is a modern swimming pool with dressing room cottage, bathroom with shower and mini kitchen plus an external shower.
In the villa a deconsecrated chapel provides another atmospheric spot. It also happens to be a fine setting for special parties and weddings. In front of the villa across on the other side of the lake is Bellagio, a 5-minute boat ride away.

The Villa offers its guests a choice of one charming and spacious bedroom and five suites each with a bedroom and sitting room. Although all the rooms have been recently renovated and equipped with the latest in comfort and technology, they still retain their original patrician style. Each room calls to mind moments of life in the 1700s; the colours of the damask fabrics on the walls compliment or contrast the colours of Lake Como visible from the Villa windows.
