Dating back to the 16th Century, this palazzo sits peacefully on the side of Lake Como
With almost three acres of lawns and gardens, private access to the lake and two swimming pools, this luxurious estate is designed to meet the desires of the most discerning guests and is the ideal venue for weddings or other special events.
Secreted in the garden – one of the largest in the area – are charming statues and fountains. The villa itself has a long history: it was once the home of Cardinal Durini, a well-known collector of art and in the 18th century, this residence was used to host banquets, dances and concerts or literary discussions. The property displays many of the original architectural details, and much has been restored to its former glory, such as the baroque frescoes from the seventeenth century and its beautiful antique furniture.
The property is set over three floors and hosts six luxuriously-appointed bedrooms, fully renovated by the French decorator, Jacques Garcia.
From the main entrance, guests enter the large opulent lobby with original frescoes. From here they have access to the dining area, the library, winter garden and three salons. All the spacious rooms still retain the original frescoes and marble floors. Also located on this floor are the kitchen and a covered terrace with working fireplace for outdoor dining.
Going up to the first floor, guests will be able to enjoy impressive views of the lake. On this floor, there are the studio, the master suite and the guest suite as well as the central salon. The second floor is accessed by a marble staircase, where there are four luxurious en-suite bedrooms with marble bathrooms.
