In 1911, a wealthy industrial family from Milan built Villa Concetta in Argegno, a picturesque holiday resort on the west shore of Lake Como. The villa’s sunny, elevated position offers stunning views of the lake with its beautiful location allowing views from the headland of Bellagio to the pre-Alps in the north and as far as Nesso to the south.
Guests can reach the shores of the lake with a Just in front of the villa is the classic S. Sisinnio church depicted in a Winston Churchill watercolour painting which he painted whilst in the villa’s gardens.
The property is surrounded by approximately in a 3500 square metres of fenced gardens with immaculate lawns, a variety of flowers and trees, and unique sculptures. Guests can take a dip in the saltwater swimming pool before relaxing on sun loungers or dining al fresco whilst taking in the spectacular views.
While the house and garden were fully restored in 2012, all the original details and materials were preserved – the marble and terracotta floors, doors, ironworks, and much of the decor all date from 1911. Antique furniture, paintings, and statues create a very exclusive atmosphere.
Indoors, an elegant hallway leads to a spacious living room with comfortable sofas, flat screen TV, and a library with reading corner. The adjoining dining room sits within a conservatory with a fireplace, glass walls, and high ceilings, allowing light and fresh air to flood the space and providing direct access to the terrace and swimming pool.
Allowing for true relaxation, the basement level features a small spa area with a steam room, relaxation room, and chromotherapy shower.
Guests can enjoy a feast cooked up in the fully-equipped kitchen, which includes a wood-burning pizza oven. After dinner, guests can head to the basement cellar for wine and prosciutto tasting.
The six comfortable bedrooms are set over the property’s three floors. Ideal for various group compositions, there are double, twin, and single rooms, all with en-suite facilities.

Villa Concetta is located in Argegno on the western shore of Lake Como, between Laglio and Tremezzo. It is around 15 minutes north of the city of Como via car.
A Roman-origin pedestrian road leads from the villa to Argegno and the lake, covering an 800-metre path, with a height difference of 80 metres.
Argegno is a favourite destination for tourists who like to visit Lake Como. It has a pleasant climate, being mild even in the winter months. The town dates to Roman times, as is evident from the stone bridge on the Telo Stream. The ancient centre of the village is very picturesque and is host to a range of restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. Hydrofoil and tourist boats connect Argegno to Como and the main areas of interest.
From Argegno is possible to take a cable car to Pigra and the Argegno-Cima della Duaria conservation area (881 metres), which is situated on a plateau enjoying beautiful views of the lake and of pre-Alps.
There are plenty of sports and outdoor activities available in the area, including canoeing, kayaking, windsurfing, and sailing, horse riding, cycling, and hiking. Golf and tennis are also popular activities, along with seaplane flights over the lake.
