A unique example of an aristocratic fifteenth-century Renaissance manor
Villa Le Rose is a stunningly restored fifteenth-century house which has become one of the most luxurious properties for rent in Florence and Tuscany. Situated in the hills above Florence, Le Rose is a deluxe six-bedroomed villa that offers a bespoke experience filled with indulgence and romance in a classic Renaissance style.
This unique property was a Medici villa commissioned by the Marchese Niccolò Antinori in the fifteenth century. Then in the 1980s, Leonardo and Beatrice Ferragamo bought the villa and made it their own home. After being restored, the villa features lavish and modern amenities to maintain the standard of the world’s leading five star hotels while preserving the original historical features.
Villa Le Rose is the perfect retreat for enjoying tranquility in the midst of the Tuscan hills, while still being conveniently close to the centre of Florence which is five-minute’ drive away. The property lies at the end of an enchanting driveway lined with ancient cypress trees. Guests will then rejoice at the sight of the thirteen-acre park incorporating a small lake that surrounds the villa. The garden features authentic Tuscan elements such as olive trees, lavender, lemon trees, cypresses, traditional terracotta pots, herbs and the scent of jasmine. The evocative name the villa is manifested in the antique rose bushes found in various delicate colors.
The extensive garden not only offers breathtaking landscape views, but also features an elegant oval-shaped swimming pool and an adjacent covered alfresco dining area. The fabulous garden provides an idyllic setting for any moment of the day, from a lovely breakfast, an afternoon tea to a magical candlelight dinner under the stars.
The villa has an area of about 400 sq. m. and it is built over three floors, maintaining the typical layout of aristocrat villas. It is centered around a paved courtyard and the entrance is situated under a charming arched loggia. The ground floor boasts a large living room with frescoed walls, an impressive eighteenth-century ballroom with a grand piano and splendid chandeliers. The sumptuous dining room can seat up to 20 guests. Further, on the same floor there is a mirrored bar and a library equipped with a satellite TV, a DVD player and a lovely collection of sailing-boat models.
The lower floor includes the spacious open-plan kitchen that features a traditional Tuscan fireplace and a bread oven. It is also fully equipped with all the modern amenities such as a dishwasher and it offers plenty of space for food storage.
The sleeping area of the villa comprises six suites spread over two floors. All suites are flooded with warm light and the authentic charm of a historical Florentine home. The finest materials and hand-picked furnishings were thoughtfully selected to create an inviting space that exudes elegance and luxurious comfort. Each room has a private bathroom, air conditioning and telephone.
