A beautiful and timeless Tuscan castle in the heart of Val d'Elsa
Villa Cabbiavoli is an authentic Tuscan castle built in 1210 by Count Alberti. Located 30km away from Florence, it aimed at being the power centre of Val d’Elsa, the Valley of the River Elsa. The property has been completely restored but still keeps many traces of that period, which makes this rental holiday retreat so unique.
Set atop an idyllic hilltop amidst beautiful Tuscan countryside, Villa Cabbiavoli is the perfect choice for a family holiday or an unforgettable wedding in a timeless Italian fashion.
The ground floor is accessible through the front door which leads to a large yet cosy living room which boasts a fireplace. The fully equipped kitchen has terracotta flooring and beamed ceilings. The magnificent dining room is adorned with French windows giving access the courtyard. Another living room, decorated in earthy yellow tones, has a fireplace and a reading alcove with a TV, computer and communication systems. The ground floor also houses one of the double en-suite bedrooms, where Federico Barbarossa used to stay.
A traditional marble staircase leads guests to the first floor where four bedrooms are situated, 2 double rooms and 2 twin rooms. One of the double bedrooms has a private balcony overlooking the front yard. There is also a laundry room with wardrobe on this floor. A secondary staircase also gives access to the ground floor.
The 12th Century Tower which is part of the original castle and stands alongside the villa features a living room on the first floor and a double en-suite bedroom. Privileged guests staying in the tower have the chance to enjoy breath-taking views from the roof terrace.
The garden offers guests a splendid view of the Tuscan landscapes as far as the towered town of San Gimignano in the horizon. The swimming pool is surrounded by an arcaded loggia and there is a shower and a fridge for the comfort of the guests. An ancient lemon house with six arched windows has been transformed into a charming lounge with a roof terrace. A 13th century chapel dedicated to Saint Bartholomew containing a crypt is also part of the garden.

The whole estate is composed of the castle itself plus 4 independent charming farmhouses. All can be rented separately and can accommodate up to 40 guests in total. Guardia Farmhouse: Sleeps 6 guests. Marcello Farmhouse: 4 apartments sleeping 18 guests in total. Orange Barn: 2 apartments sleeping 10 guests in total. Yellow Barn: Sleeps 6 guests.

Villa Cabbiavoli is within easy reach of Florence, San Gimignano, Siena, Pisa and Lucca, all visually attractive localities worth a visit.
From the colonnade of cypress trees on every hill to the terracotta farmhouses and olive groves, the whole area of Val d'Orcia and Florence offers unforgettable vistas.
