Area

Versilia remains among the most popular European seaside destinations, both within the Tuscan Riviera and on the whole of the Tyrrhenian. Forte dei Marmi is a town crucial to Versilia’s popularity.

Virtually, every European noble, a number of diplomats, businessmen, artists and V.I.P.s had their beautiful villas protected by the greenery of the local pinewoods. Undoubtedly, they chose the area for its sandy beaches, ideal for holidays, relaxation and old-fashioned fun. Forte dei Marmi, just one minutes away, has also had its share of noble visitors. This is an area which is arguably the most famous among all chic, Italian sea locations. Its night life, scents of the sea and its own people are inspirations to live “La Dolce Vita,” the sweet life. Times have changed dramatically since Agnelli walked the beach-town streets of Forte dei Marmi but people like him will never cease to take a stroll on the beaches of a Versilian town like this.

In addition to the local medieval  town of Pietrasanta, the most important art cities of Tuscany such as Lucca, Pisa, Florence and Siena are easily reachable through landscapes of rare beauty. The marble quarries of Carrara in which Michelangelo carved his masterpiece are a short drive away, as are the “Cinque Terre” and the Alpian Alps.
