An elegant 19th century aristocratic residence in Val d'Orcia

The neo gothic estate of Villa il Piccolo Principe is one of the most charming properties in Tuscany, built around the late 1800s.

The large manicured gardens surrounding the pool are ideal for soaking up the Italian sun. There are also lounge chairs, a barbecue grill and a dining table for al fresco dining under the stars.

Renovated by the European designer Astrid Schiller Wirth, the interiors of this villa are unique and eye-catching. Every detail was carefully chosen to create a welcoming environment.

Spread over three floors, this palatial property can accommodate both families and groups of friends for leisure holidays. What’s more the large outdoor areas are ideal for weddings or special events.

On the ground floor, guests are invited to relax in the living area by the roaring fireplace or indulge in the local specialties prepared by the private chef in the elegant dining area.

The main villa boasts four en-suite luxuriously appointed bedrooms including an impressive Honeymoon Suite. Furthermore, at the top floor of this villa, guests will have access to spa facilities including a sauna, steam room, gym, and massage room.

Parco del Principe can also be rented with 6 bedrooms only (Villa Principe) or 8 bedrooms (Villa Principe & Guest House).

Location

Val d’Orcia is a welcoming region with hills outlined by endless rows of cypress trees, majestic castles, thermal spa towns and tiny medieval villages. They are all surrounded by olive groves & wine cellars full of oak and chestnut casks in which to age world class wine.

The hilltop village of Montalcino is home to the famous Brunello di Montalcino. It is covered by vineyards and at its centre, visitors find signature examples of medieval architecture such as the Palazzo dei Priori and the wonderful Rocca fortress.

Pienza, not far from the estate, has been declared “Heritage of Mankind” by Unesco and is considered to be the “symbol city” of the Italian Renaissance. It is also famous for its wonderful pecorino cheese.

Montepulciano, in this same area, is another charming village known as the pearl of the 16th century. It is famous for the production of wines such as Vino Nobile di Montepulciano.

A few minutes from the villa lies Chianciano Terme, a renowned thermal spa town which dates back to Roman times.
