Villa Poggio Fibbia lies just 1.8 km from the medieval village of Radicofani in the Val d'Orcia area of Tuscany. The Val d’Orcia region stretches from the hills south of Siena to Monte Amiata and is characterised by rolling green hills with charming towns and villages dotted throughout.
The pretty, cobbled streets of Radicofani are home to a variety of restaurants and bars as well as a few gift shops and delicatessens to explore. The 13th Century Church of San Pietro is a must-see for its stunning Romanesque architecture and interior frescoes and oil paintings.
The fortress of Radicofani is one of the most spectacular castles in Tuscany. Perched high atop the hillside, the fortress dates back to around the year 1000. Visitors can visit the balcony on top of the tower to take in panoramic views of the entire Val d’Orcia area.
The Val d’Orcia region is known for producing some of Italy’s finest wines, cheeses and olive oils, which visitors can sample in any of the nearby towns including Pienza, Montepulciano and Montelcino.
