A former watch tower and now a luxurious private residence with awe-inspiring views of the Tuscan and Umbrian countryside
Hidden within 2700 acres of lush Italian countryside is Villa Arrighi and guest house. The villa is one in a series of ancient properties lovingly restored by the Bolza family to now serve as luxury accommodations for guests from all around the world. Occupying a privileged position atop a hill, the villa offers 360° views of the oak, vineyards and olive groves Reschio Estate, stretching all the way to the Niccone Valley.
Villa Arrighi and Guest House dates as far back as the 11th century, with some of its original Romanesque features still being maintained in the exterior appearance. However, many modern upgrades can be observed, one of which is the external staircase encased in glass. Contrasting the traditional exterior is the modern interior which boasts contemporary art, yet maintains a traditional charm thanks to the exposed wooden beams.
The main villa is accessible via the ample tiled courtyard which boasts a water fountain. Also at the exterior, the property features a landscaped lawn and an overflow swimming pool, adjoined by a vaulted pool house. Thanks to its south-facing positioning, the swimming pool area affords uninterrupted views of the unfolding valleys below.
The interior of the main property provides a great sense of space thanks to the double height ceilings in the living room and generally high ceilings throughout the villa. Expanding over three levels, villa Arrighi has ample space, and nooks for every mood and occasion. The living environment is generous and is divided between the double height sitting room, a cloak room adjoined by a classic Italian kitchen, and an elegant living area with seats for twelve guests. The dining room opens onto the terrace where there are al fresco dining features.
In terms of bedrooms, the main villa has five bedrooms all boasting en-suite facilities. The guests house, which is a short stroll away, features an en-suite double bedroom, as well as a living room with kitchenette, and a wine cellar.
