A classic Italian villa with magnificent views of the surrounding Umbrian and Tuscan countryside
Situated on the border between Umbria and Tuscany, this palatial property – part of the Castello di Reschio Estate – has recently been renovated to meet the highest standards.
Offering panoramic views of the countryside near Cortona, the surrounding gardens and terraces wrap around the villa creating an ambience of total relaxation. Contributing to this magic atmosphere is the centrepiece of the villa – the heated pool which is partially covered by a loggia.
The innovative design is combined with classic features that accentuate the character of a country villa. While some of the features, including the vaulted ceilings, floors of reclaimed terracotta tiles, and hand-painted wallpaper remind guests of glorious Italian palazzos of the past, other features bring them totally up to date in the modern era, with light furnishings and glass surfaces adding a touch of chic and elegance.
The living area’s sophistication is continued throughout the villa. Both the modern finishes and traditional furnishings are found in the library and dining area where the original doorways’ neoclassical lines contrast with wrought-iron chairs and candleholders. The kitchen is neutral, yet elegant.
The sleeping area consists of five en-suite bedrooms. One bedroom is located on the ground floor and three others are situated on the first floor. Finally, the master bedroom is located on the second floor and can be accessed via a travertine staircase.
The wine cellar is the ideal place for a wine tasting and indulging in some of the finest Italian wines with your close friends. There is also a billiards room and a well-equipped gym and tennis court.
Guests enjoy five-star hotel services planned to perfection.

Umbria and Tuscany epitomise the attractions of Italy: beautiful countryside reminiscent of landscapes in Renaissance paintings, medieval hill-top towns, wonderful art galleries, museums and architecture, not to mention delicious food and wine.
Within an hour's drive of the Estate are towns such as Assisi, Arezzo, Cortona, Gubbio, Perugia and Siena and many other sights to explore. The two regions abound with open-air concerts and operas during the long summer season and each town has its own little festivals.
Villa Palazzo is a sanctuary hidden from the outside world where it is possible to see no one and do nothing for week upon blissful week. But it is also part of a thriving, working estate with its stables, its winery, olive groves, wild boar hunts, clay pigeon shoots, tennis courts and private osteria and bottega.
Count Antonio's horses can be hired for a private riding lesson or a morning hack through the quiet hills. Our chefs can drive to the farmsteads for a one-to-one pasta-making lesson and one of our resident wine experts can host tastings in the Estate's winery. Days can be spent truffle and mushroom hunting or foraging for other delicacies such as wild asparagus. Tennis can be played on the Estate courts while Florentine linen throws or fresh seasonal vegetables can be bought from the bottega.
Those in the Estate office have an unrivalled local knowledge and can arrange anything from mountain biking, painting classes, art-history excursions to private tours of Chianti vineyards or the many ancient hilltop towns of Umbria and Tuscany.
