A charming, historical sixteenth century villa that has been beautifully restored
Mrs Francesca Bortolotto Possati, passionate about preserving the cultural and historical beauty of her native city, has revived and renovated this unique residence overlooking San Marco and has made it one of the shining lights in the area.

The villa has 11 elegant residential suites, all beautifully furnished with antiques and luxurious textiles, and all offer charming views over San Marco and Chiesa della Salute.

Venice, known as one of the most romantic cities in Europe, is home to some of the greatest art and cultural treasures in the world. Signature examples include the Doge's Palace, the Rialto bridge (one of the last of Europe's stone bridges), and St Mark's Basilica and Square. Visitors can wander through world-famous museums and art exhibitions: the Museo Correr, the Peggy Guggneheim Collection, the Palazzo Grassi and the vast and varied art collection of Galleria dell'Accademia. The Museo Cà Rezzonico displays draperies, dresses and original furniture of the eighteenth century. The city also hosts both local and international arts and cultural events. These include the famous Art Biennale international exhibition of contemporary visual art and the Premio Campiello literary prize.
As well as arts and culture, Venice has a celebratory atmosphere. Every July, the Festa Del Redontore is held during which a magnificent fireworks display is enjoyed by people watching from their decorated boats. The annual Carnival is world famous for the elaborate masks worn during the festival. During the summer months, the canals are regularly scenes of regattas which as well as being sporting events, are opportunities to celebrate and have fun. The most well-known of these is the Historical Regatta. The race is preceded by a colourful parade of boats manned by people in traditional costume and is considered to be one of the most important rowing contests with people from all over the world vying for the crown.
