Be at one with nature on an exclusive eco-luxury private island

Cousine Island is a place like no other, found in the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. Sail away and come to be part of the thriving nature on this pristine island in the Seychelles archipelago. Enjoy the ultimate seclusion in this ecological haven and indulge the highest level of luxury. Cousine is a jewel island, considered to be one of the most eco-friendly and sustainable important private islands on the planet.

This paradisiacal island is home to thousands of nesting seabirds each year. Giant tortoises, hawksbill turtles, wedge-tailed shearwaters, and other species are part of Cousine’s rich flora and fauna biodiversity.

Discerning guests will be in awe as they experience the natural surroundings while being spoilt in the finest luxury. To provide the highest level of intimacy and seclusion, Cousine Island has four luxury villas designed in a sumptuous French colonial style, and one grand presidential villa, all set in the midst of the luxuriant vegetation and only 30 metres away from the beach.

All villas face the ocean and overlook the white sandy beach, each offering its own swimming pool and outdoor showers to be in harmony with nature. Guests will have magical moments from the comfort of their extensive bedrooms while admiring the ocean with its stunning sunsets and sunrises.

Before retreating to the privacy of their own bedrooms, all guests can gather at the Pavilion, which is the island’s central point for socialising. Everyone can find an ideal entertainment activity, from relaxing with a book in the private library, to refreshing in the pool, enjoying a cocktail at the bar, or trying out a mouth-watering local dish in the open-air dining area.

The presidential villa features two master bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, a study area, spa, gym, and a private outdoor bar. To cater to all guests’ needs, this main villa offers a full-time butler and onsite accommodation for the private au pair or chamber lady.

Each of the four luxury villas oozes a romantic ambience and retains the distinctive French colonial design of the Seychelles' past. There are exquisite sights of the mesmerising ocean and lush surroundings, all to be enjoyed from this luxury holiday home, which is just steps away from the sea shore. Each villa features one master suite with an en suite bathroom, twin vanities, Jacuzzi baths, and a charming veranda.

Cousine Island

Area

Cousine Island is 25 hectares (62 acres), around 1.4 km in length, 800 m in width, and located in the Seychelles archipelago. It is the first exclusive eco-luxury private island in the world to adopt a conservation-based management model where the ecotourism development assures that the revenue made by the hotel is reinvested into the island’s long-term sustainability of conservation. There is a 100% dedication to the preservation of the Seychelles environment.

During six months of the year, Cousine Island is home to various migratory birds; hawksbill turtles come ashore to nest and green turtles, rare to the Seychelles, nest occasionally throughout the year.

The philosophy of the island is to ensure conservation and to contribute directly to the region’s biodiversity by involving direct and tangible benefits to the environment. Guests are encouraged to actively participate in the conservation work on Cousine Island by planting indigenous trees and assisting island ecologists in monitoring the endangered marine turtles and birds. After their stay on Cousine Island, guests will have a deeper knowledge of the environment and will leave with a sense of belonging to nature.

There are two different seasons on Cousine Island:
November–March: Rainy season; turtle breeding season
April–October: Dry season; bird breeding season
