Enjoy one of the best islands in the world with delicious cuisine, rich of history and culture and outstanding nature

Luxury villas in Sicily

Being the largest island in the Mediterranean, Sicily is also one of Europe’s most attractive islands, full of contrasts and a bustling Mediterranean culture with history, architecture and exquisite cuisine being at home.

The most important attractions in Sicily are the volcanoes, which sometimes light up the night skies, but also the mountains, the coastline (1000 km) and the sea. In Sicily you never run out of things to do, whether you enjoy hiking in the mountains, skiing on Mount Etna  or just sun-bathing on one of the sandy beaches,  visiting ancient archaeological sites, or shopping in Palermo’s fashionable boutiques – there is something for every type of tourist.

Sicily can be compared with an open air museum, as wherever you turn there is evidence of Sicily’s rich history. Having a mild climate,  Sicily can be visited all the year round and each season has its own distinctive charm.

See
  • Sandy beaches
  • There are many amazing beaches to see, but there are some you shouldn’t miss, such as Porto Palo di Menfi, Cefalu, Letojanni or Sampieri. Or if you want to try some of the off the beatten track beaches, you can go to Lo Zingaro Nature Reserve, accessed from Scopello or San Vito Lo Capo in the north-west of Sicily, or the Vendicari Nature Reserve in the south-east, near Noto.
  • Valley of Temples
  • One of Sicily’s most famous historical attractions is without a doubt the Valley of the Temples, just outside Agrigento. This splendid archaeological park consists of eight temples. Most of them are located on rocky crests south of Agrigento.
  • Archaeological sites
  • If you're in the east of Sicily, why not go for a lovely spring walk to the Necropolis of Pantalica near Syracuse. Hidden at the bottom of a gorge, a visit is an excellent excuse for a walk through some lovely countryside and a picnic in an extremely evocative place.
  • Mount Etna
  • Hiking on Mount Etna will ensure you’ll have a memorable time. Not only for the breath-taking views from the top, but also for the volcanic phenomena. You can either walk to the top in about 3 hours or join an organized excursion by 4 wheel - drive.
  • Taormina
  • Visit Taormina a lovely town with gorgeous medieval churches, a stunning Greek theatre and sweeping views over the Gulf of Naxos and Mt Etna.
Experience
  • Watersports
  • Try one of the many watersports which can be enjoyed in Sicily: kitesurfing, wakeboarding, canoeing, waterskiing or scuba diving, there is something for everyone
  • Go to the Taormina Film Festival.
  • See the coastline
  • Rent a boat and get away from the crowds. You will definitely want to dive in the translucent waters while enjoying your trip along the coast.
  • Try a gelato! For Sicilians, ice-cream is a refreshing lunch in itself and you will see many locals wandering around with a gelato.
  • Participate to one of events
  • In September, Sicily hosts some of its best sagre and events, including, Cefalu's ice-cream festival, Sherbeth and San Vito Lo Capo's CousCous Fest. The whole island comes alive with the grape harvest and many villages throw a party to celebrate Dionysus' fabulous gift.
