Keythorpe Hall
10 Bedrooms — 20 Guests
A beautiful English manor with a focus on gastronomy, sustainability and – of course – luxury
In the heart of the English countryside, Keythorpe Hall in Leicestershire is a beautifully-restored manor dating back to 1783. It sits on over 20 acres of land, including expansive formal gardens, woodland areas and vibrant meadows.
Its sprawling grounds provide plenty of space for helicopter landings and offer a host of outdoor activities for all ages. Guests can enjoy a game of tennis or croquet, or a leisurely walk along one of the many trails before enjoying a relaxing soak in the wood-fired cedar hot tub or a dip in the heated swimming pool.
The Head Gardener is happy to take guests on a tour of the gardens to share his knowledge on growing organic produce and sustainable foraging. Kids will love harvesting their own fruit and veg to be expertly prepared by the chefs or flowers to arrange into garlands and crowns with the in-house florist.
Sustainability is a focal point of the manor. Along with the organic gardens and seasonal, locally-sourced produce for farm-to-table meals, the house avoids single-use plastics, whilst the heating comes from biomass, an environmentally-friendly energy source.
The house is a thoughtfully-restored Grade II heritage-listed country manor. Completed in the mid-1800s by the 11th Lord Berners, Keythorpe Hall is now an indulgent yet relaxed home decorated with antique furniture and a blend of original and modern artworks throughout.
The heart of the home is the grand reception hall with high ceilings, twin fireplaces, and a grand piano for entertaining guests. There is also a stunning double drawing room, a 20-seater dining room, and a fully-equipped family kitchen. Each room boasts floor-to-ceiling windows allowing sunshine to flood the interiors and offering spectacular views over the rolling hills.
In addition to the guest kitchen, there is a professional kitchen where gastronomy is the focus. The in-house chefs will prepare Michelin-worthy feasts, ready to be expertly paired with wine by the award-winning sommelier for gastronomic indulgence.
The manor sleeps up to 20 guests in 10 elegant bedrooms. The seven bedrooms in the main house all boast king-size beds (two of which can be arranged as twins), and most have en-suite facilities. Each room has a unique style, some with opulent detailing like textile wall hangings or claw-foot tubs; other details are a little quirkier, like the portrait of the 4th Lord Berners, Sir Thomas Knyvet, covering one shower wall!
The remaining three bedrooms are in a separate apartment in the manor’s east wing. It comprises one king-size room and two doubles with a shared bathroom and private living room, ideal for those travelling with teens or personal staff.
Keythorpe Hall provides the perfect place for a decadent weekend away or a luxurious holiday with loved ones in the verdant English countryside.
