The grounds of Villa Bismarck carry a rich history dating back to antiquity, with original Roman walls still integrated into the structure. Rebuilt in the early 20th century, the estate gained international legendary status under Countess Mona von Bismarck, a celebrated fashion icon, socialite, and art patron.
Throughout the decades, the villa hosted many luminaries, from Jacqueline Kennedy and the Rockefeller family to Pablo Picasso and Ernest Hemingway. Today, careful restorations preserve the villa’s golden-age glamour while seamlessly integrating modern amenities.
Set within 11,000 square metres of terraced Mediterranean gardens, the outdoor grounds are bursting with flowering bougainvillaea, mature pine trees, fragrant citrus groves, and century-old olive trees. Guests can relax by the heated infinity pool or host outdoor dinners on panoramic terraces.
A scenic path of around 150 steps leads from the garden down to the sea, passing through a pleasant, wooded area of olive trees and Mediterranean herbs. This rare feature allows guests direct access to the crystal-clear waters below.
The villa spans an impressive 800 square metres over three expansive floors. Indoors, four light-filled reception rooms exude elegance and sophistication, with marble floors and vaulted ceilings paired with museum-quality art, period antiques, and local Capri majolica tiles. Highlights include the elegant dining hall with its soaring six-metre-high domed ceiling and the quiet oval salon-turned-library.
The estate boasts two distinct kitchen setups. These include an elegant breakfast kitchen with a curated wine and champagne display and a fully equipped commercial kitchen for private Michelin-calibre chefs and large-scale celebrations.
