An exclusive private island retreat amongst the lush rainforests and vibrant marine reserves of Panama
Islas Secas is an archipelago of 14 remote islets off Panama’s Pacific coast, offering an exclusive private island experience. With eight separate residences tucked away in one corner of Isla Cavada, the archipelago’s only inhabited island, it is an idyllic retreat that ensures the utmost privacy and seclusion for large groups of family and friends.
Surrounded by protected waters and covered in lush rainforest, the island is a true tropical paradise offering an idyllic barefoot luxury experience. After arriving in style via private plane or boat, guests can embark on unique experiences such as snorkelling in the vibrant coral reefs, exploring the island’s nature trails, or enjoying a private beach picnic. The island’s many beaches invite guests to dive into crystal-clear waters or laze on soft sands and watch the waves lap the shore.
The heart of the island is the beachfront Terraza, a grand structure with a thatched, vaulted roof that offers a luxurious yet laidback living space. This is the place to indulge in relaxed beach barbecues or elegant feasts prepared with local produce, to curl up with a holiday read in a plush daybed pod, or to sink into the beachfront lounges under the shade of swaying palms.
Beside the Terraza is the Balboa Bar, a chic indoor bar with a tropical colonial design. The bar is filled with unique local artefacts, historical maps, books, and board games, making it the ideal spot to sip a coffee or cocktail and reminisce on the day’s adventures.
When it comes to relaxation and wellness, guests are spoilt for choice. A sparkling infinity pool flanked by day beds offers spectacular ocean and sunset views, perfect for a lazy lunch or evening aperitifs.
The nearby spa is surrounded by lush forest, creating a relaxing oasis for indulging in nurturing treatments, from massages to facials to sound baths. The hidden Hummingbird Garden offers another private space for wellness in nature, while outdoor yoga sessions can be held in various leafy and breezy locations on the island.
Each of the eight residences has its own unique style and charm, from the bohemian tented casitas to the super-lux flagship villa, Casa Cavada. Surrounded by lush vegetation, each residence is a private retreat within the private island. They all offer beautiful bedrooms and living spaces, vast terraces with ocean views, and – aside from the tented casitas – all have private pools for ultimate relaxation.
Sustainability is not just a buzzword here, it’s a way of life. This biodiverse archipelago is a shining example of responsible tourism. From solar power to water recycling, from food waste composting to carbon offsetting of private jet and boat fuel, every effort is made to minimise the impact on the environment. The Islas Secas Foundation further supports wildlife and marine conservation, and the property actively participates in marine data collection.
Islas Secas in Panama is a natural paradise where sustainability and luxury go hand-in-hand for the ultimate private island experience.
NB: The island’s flagship villa Casa Cavada can also be booked individually. Contact us for further details.
