A ski resort with the perfect blend of small-town charm and sophistication
Developed in the early 1900s for Baroness de Rothschild of the famous banking family, Megève has retained a perfect blend of small-town charm and sophisticated ambiance.
The resort is situated 10 km off the main road between Geneva and Chamonix, in the renowned Mont Blanc ski area. The pretty village is centred around a medieval church and the cobbled, traffic-free square features designer boutiques and Michelin-starred restaurants, putting Megève in the same class as renowned Courchevel 1850.
Megève boasts 325 km of pistes on beautiful tree-lined slopes and a local lift pass will also covers the neighbouring resort of Les Contamines. The extensive ski area is ideal for beginners and intermediates, though more advanced skiers and snowboarders will still find plenty to enjoy on and off piste.
There are a host of on-mountain restaurants to enjoy a quick rest or a long, gourmet lunch, as well as a branch of the famous La Folie Douce perfect for a lively après ski session.
In the village, Club de Jazz les Cinq Rues is one of France’s oldest jazz clubs outside of Paris and often features top international musicians, whilst The Cocoon Club is the place to go for late-night dancing and DJs.
Away from the slopes, guests can enjoy horse-drawn carriage rides, open-air ice skating, indoor tennis, children’s activities and much more.
Megève is also a fantastic summer destination with hiking, canyoning, rafting, mountain biking, and golf just some of the many outdoor activities available.
