A 16th century villa immersed in the Tuscan countryside

This stylish property has previously been used as a hunting lodge and later on as a family summer house. Set in the Tuscan countryside, only 10 minutes’ drive from the town of Lucca, Villa Donati has the ideal location to explore the area.

Surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and cypress trees, the property offers plenty of things to do, with its private swimming pool and tennis court being some of the favourites. The large garden provides the perfect environment for relaxation and tranquility.

The villa is a typical example of the houses built at this time with its imposing facade and the main external staircase leading directly into the huge sitting room. At the back of the villa, there is a beautiful 16th century loggia with three arches, ideal for eating outside and also leading directly to the main living room. There are magnificent views across the beautifully-tended garden and surrounding parkland.

The house has various common areas, where the entire group can gather and share precious moments as there are multiple living and dining areas, both indoor and outdoor. There are two covered areas by the swimming pool, one is a sitting area near the pool and the other one is closer to the house and the outdoor cooking and dining area which includes a pizza oven, a gas barbecue, and a separate wood burning fire.

On the ground floor, guests will find a large family living room with a fireplace for cold winter days, an open plan kitchen with wood burning fireplace, a TV room and a study area. On the first floor is another large, open living room.

The property also features a gym, laundry, a play room for children and parking.

Six of the seven bedrooms – four doubles and two twins – are located on the first floor. Three of these boast en-suite facilities. On the ground floor is the seventh bedroom, also boasting an en-suite bathroom.

Villa Donati is a beautiful property, perfect for a luxury retreat with loved ones.

Villa Donati has the ideal location to explore Tuscany. This central location allows visitors to explore the numerous well-known sites such as Carrara, Chianti, Florence, Lucca, Pisa, and Siena. It is also the ideal location from which to visit the lesser known, but worthy of exploration places such as Fiesole, Montecatini Alto, Pistoia, San Gimignano, San Miniato, Vinci, Vicopisano, and Volterra.

Tuscany epitomises the birth of the Renaissance. The region’s most prized art and historical relics reside in the larger cities, while hilltop medieval towns offer their own history.

The region offers breath-taking views of the undulating countryside with its rustic vineyards and olive groves and the majestic Appiennes Mountains.
