The 13th Century Church of San Pietro is a must-see for its stunning Romanesque architecture and interior frescoes and oil paintings. Moreover, the village’s fortress is one of the most spectacular castles in Tuscany, dating back to around 1000 AD and offers panoramic views from its balcony.
The Val d’Orcia region is known for producing some of Italy’s finest wines, cheeses and olive oils, which can be sampled in any of the nearby towns including Pienza, Montepulciano and Siena to name but a few.
