A late-1800s aristocratic Tuscan residence, completely renovated by interior designer Astrid Schiller Wirth

Villa ‘Il Parco del Principe’ is the latest design project of interior designer, Astrid Schiller Wirth. Astrid’s eye for detail and creative passion are seen in this completely renovated neo-gothic structure, originally built in the late 1800s by an aristocratic Tuscan family. Her unique style and personal touches are evident throughout the two-storey building.

Villa il Principe enjoys an intimate setting and is the ideal place for vacations, reunions with family or friends, private meetings or wedding celebrations. The space can be adapted to meet your needs, whether an exclusive group booking, or a private bed and breakfast getaway.

The first floor of the main villa has four spacious double bedrooms, each with a private bathroom with bathtub and shower facilities and one romantic, luxurious honeymoon suite.

The second floor has two bedrooms, each with en-suite bathroom, a large and spacious living room and well-equipped kitchen.

The top floor of the main villa boasts spa amenities including a sauna, steam room, gym, and massage room.

In the grounds of the villa is the ‘La Foresteria’, an apartment with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, an open fireplace, a living room and kitchen. These can be rented separately or together.

Location

Welcome to the Val D’Orcia: hills outlined by endless rows of cypress trees, majestic castles, thermal spa towns, tiny medieval villages surrounded by olive groves and wine cellars with oak and chestnut casks in which world-class wines are being aged.

The village of Montalcino, home to the famous Brunello di Montalcino, stands atop a hill covered almost entirely with vineyards and at its centre, signature examples of medieval architecture: the Palazzo Dei Priori and the wonderful Rocca fortress, built around the fourteenth century.

Pienza, not far from the estate, has been declared the “Heritage of Mankind” by UNESCO and is considered to be a city symbolic of the Italian Renaissance (as well as famous for its wonderful pecorino cheese).

Montepulciano, in this same area, is another charming village, known as the pearl of the sixteenth century and renowned for the production of wines such as Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. A few minutes from the Villa lies Chianciano Terme, a famous thermal spa town that dates to Roman times.
