Explore Gubbio, said to be one of the most beautiful medieval towns in Italy or Assisi, home of St Francis. Meander around the Lake at Castiglione (Castiglione del Lago) and see cliff top Orvieto.
Alternatively, just relax in the tranquil rural landscape and since Umbria poduces both good red and white wine sample some Orvieto Classico or some delicious mushroom specialties of the region.
