A fusion of extravagance, art, and luxurious facilities
Standing on the foundations of a traditional, 700-year-old chalet, The Backstage Luxury Loft is a glamorous bolthole in the chic resort of Zermatt. Sitting on the edge of the resort’s river, it is just a short walk the Klein Matterhorn lift and village centre.
The five-bedroom chalet was brought to life by acclaimed Swiss designer and architect, Heinz Julien, who custom-made each and every fitting and piece of furniture in his workshop, bringing a touch of personal style to this luxurious alpine hideaway.
With floor-to-ceilings glass windows, this alpine residence boasts spectacular views of the imposing Matterhorn, and welcomes its guests in a contemporary yet cosy interior, which redefines the concept of alpine living.
It is not only its cutting-edge design that makes this chalet standout; its one-of-a-kind facilities also give it an edge. A Jacuzzi enclosed in floor-to-ceiling glass walls offers stunning views; with the touch of a button, the glass walls retract, turning the indoor hot tub into an outdoor one.
Designed in an open-plan format, the living-dining-kitchen area allows guests to spend time together, engaging in various activities, whether that be gazing out to the Matterhorn, cosying up by the fireplace, enjoying chef-prepared meals, or simply chatting the hours away with friends and family.
Another highlight of this property is its snug cinema room. Opposed to the rest of the chalet, the room is windowless, ensuring that there is no glare present while watching the latest films. The room also features a small kitchenette, perfect for preparing film night snacks and drinks.
However, for guests who wish to keep up their workout regimes, there is also a well-equipped gym, a hammam and a sauna.
At the end of a long day on the slopes, guests can retire to the comfortable bedrooms, which all feature en-suite shower rooms. Several of the rooms boast balcony or terrace access, and one bedroom can use a separate entrance if required, perfect for travelling staff members or those looking for a little more privacy.
The Backstage Luxury Loft Chalet is where luxury meets art and hospitality. With its proximity to the heart of Zermatt, its modern design and facilities, and professional team of staff to cater to every need, it’s the ideal choice for the ski holiday of a lifetime.

The Backstage Luxury Loft Chalet is situated in upscale Zermatt in the Swiss Alps. Known for its stylish chalets, chic village and the imposing Matterhorn – a 4487-metre high peak rising above all the others like a shark’s fin – Zermatt is one of the most scenic and glamorous ski resorts in Europe.

Along with its car-free status, Zermatt’s lift system is powered with solar and hydroelectric energy, making it one of the most eco-friendly ski resorts in Europe. Electric taxis are available 24-hours a day to transport guests around the resort.
A host of activities and stylish après-ski options are available. From private tours of the Matterhorn area to dining in the most upscale eateries, discerning guests will feel pampered and spoilt for choice.
