Beautiful Mediterranean fishing port on the Cote d’Azur

Luxury Villas in Cassis

Located south-east of Marseille, Cassis is a charming fishing port on the Cote d’Azur known for its pebble beaches and looming cliffs. A 14th century chateau overlooks the town and its harbour, which is lined with pretty pastel buildings and trendy cafes, bars and boutiques.

The Calanques – a series of high limestone cliffs and beautiful bays – run from Cassis to the city of Marseille. From the top of Cap Canaille, which forms the natural southern border of the town, visitors can take in spectacular views across Cassis and Mount Puget, the highest peak in The Calanques.

A drive along The Route des Crêtes (“Road of Crests”) is not to be missed, should weather permit. The scenic 13 kilometre road stretches along the clifftops from Cassis to the town of La Ciotat, offering visitors panoramic coastal and countryside views.

The countryside surrounding the town is home to vineyards and wineries, well-worth visiting to get a taste of the local Cassis white and rosé wines.
