Villa Aurora – Anacapri
7 Bedrooms — 14 Guests
A beautiful 17th-century villa with a lush garden and heated swimming pool, just minutes from Anacapri’s centre
Perched in the quieter, more elevated commune of Anacapri on the island of Capri, Villa Aurora stands as a rare surviving example of a 17th-century Neapolitan-style country residence. Situated within walking distance of Anacapri’s centre, this luxury villa offers a convenient base to explore the island’s scenic beauty while enjoying the surrounding serenity.
The villa’s history dates back to the early 1600s, when it served as a noble residence. Passing through the entrance gates, guests are greeted by magnificent tiered gardens with vine-covered gazebos, century-old trees, and climbing rose bushes. A “secret garden” offers a secluded spot for meditation or reading, whilst the verdant vegetable garden provides fresh produce for meals served at the villa.
At the centre of the gardens, a large swimming pool is flanked by verdant Mediterranean vegetation, which only enhances the overall feeling of relaxation, enjoyed in full tranquillity. Additionally, a poolside Jacuzzi offers a place to sit back and relax with a glass of champagne.
Beyond the pool area, shaded outdoor living and dining settings provide more space for socialising and enjoying the fresh Mediterranean breeze.
An impressive marble staircase, ornamented by vine-covered columns, leads up to the villa’s main entrance hall. The expertly restored interiors offer modern luxury whilst retaining authenticity. Here, guests will find classic Caprian elements, including thick walls, high vaulted ceilings, and floors decorated with original hand-painted ceramic tiles.
The heart of the home is the spacious lounge featuring comfortable sofas, perfect for relaxation and a cosy TV corner. On the opposite side of the entrance hall, there is an elegant dining room where guests can savour chef-prepared meals. The adjoining conservatory, with glass walls and filled with plush white sofas, is bathed in natural light and overlooks the gardens, making it ideal for spending cooler evenings indoors.
The villa is perfect for up to 14 guests, featuring seven elegantly themed en-suite bedrooms. The main house includes five bedrooms: the master suite with a king-sized bed, three queen-sized bedrooms, and one twin bedroom. For those seeking additional privacy, there is a two-bedroom guest house by the pool. Each en-suite bathroom beautifully combines historical elegance with contemporary wellness, with several featuring 18th-century marble basins or modern Turkish steam baths.
With its historical grandeur and modern amenities, a stay at Villa Aurora promises a luxurious holiday experience in Capri.

About the area
Villa Aurora is located less than 5 minutes’ walk from Anacapri’s main square, after following a charming old footpath near the town centre. The villa can only be accessed on foot; however, guests can use the porter service for assistance with luggage to and from the villa.
The island of Capri has two towns: Capri and Anacapri. Anacapri is considered the more authentic side of the island, suitable for visitors who prefer the peaceful surroundings and walking and hiking trails to the more crowded, touristic area of Capri town.
Anacapri is characterised by an enticing blend of Mediterranean colours, lush tropical vegetation, quaint small houses, tiny Neapolitan tailors’ shops and artisan shoemakers. Guests who are interested in discovering historical sites that have attracted the travelling elite since Roman times, or in exploring the numerous secluded beaches and caves along the unique coastline, will find themselves in an idyllic haven in Capri.
