The villa’s name, Ocaso (meaning “sunset”), is a nod to its most breathtaking feature. Built into the hills of Flamingo, the multi-level structure utilises expansive glass walls to frame the Pacific Ocean like a living gallery.
Spanning 15,000 square feet, the villa offers plenty of space for guests to be immersed in the “Pura Vida” lifestyle. The highlight of the outdoor space is a sparkling, 15-metre infinity pool that seems to spill directly into the ocean. In-pool sun loungers provide an idyllic space to top up a tan, whilst the spacious surrounding pool deck is dotted with more loungers and umbrellas.
Perfect for sunset drinks, there is a cosy outdoor lounge area with a fire pit at one end of the pool deck, whilst the other end offers plenty of open space for morning yoga sessions. Behind the yoga area, the villa features a professional-grade gym equipped with Sorinex, Rogue, and Peloton gear, set behind arched windows for a workout with a view.
A second terrace features another sunny lounge area, as well as a shaded area for al fresco dining. Along with a long, wooden dining table, this space features an outdoor kitchen, fully equipped with top-of-the-range appliances, a barbecue, and a bar area.
Heading indoors, the interiors celebrate Costa Rican heritage through custom furniture, locally sourced timber, and artisanal accents. The main level serves as the social heart of the home, featuring an expansive living area that opens directly to the ocean breezes, an elegant indoor dining room, and a designer kitchen.
For evening entertainment, the villa offers a dedicated TV and games room, featuring a shuffleboard table and dart board for friendly competition.
Nine beautiful bedrooms are spread across the villa’s three levels, and a separate guest casita. Most bedrooms offer en-suite facilities, whilst the two master suites on the top floor boast the additional luxury of an outdoor bathtub. For those seeking extra privacy, the separate casita tucked beneath the pool area features its own living room with a handy kitchenette and a private terrace.
