Villa Mas Mateu & Guest Houses is an exquisite 18th-century Spanish estate featuring a world-class equestrian centre. It has preserved the grandeur and style associated with its heritage while remaining accessible and providing the luxuries and comforts expected from such an esteemed establishment.
This luxury estate is perfect for larger groups and special events, accommodating up to 39 guests across a main house, two guest houses, and an apartment. Moreover, it can accommodate up to 53 guests when additional singles and sofa beds are added.
The estate’s expansive grounds cater to every athletic and leisure pursuit. Guests can enjoy a premier swimming pool complex, clay tennis and padel courts, a basketball net, a football pitch, and a professional-grade gym, alongside a variety of outdoor games.
In addition, this remarkable property features high-end equestrian facilities, led by a member of Spain’s esteemed dressage training team. The centre can accommodate up to 10 horses and includes an all-weather covered arena, an outdoor arena, a warm-up area, six paddocks, seating for up to 100 spectators, and several acres of fields, plus living accommodations for trainers.
To conclude a day of activity, the estate offers sophisticated al fresco dining, including a summer kitchen repurposed from a historic stone barn.
A graceful, arched doorway leads into a series of inviting lounges, with magnificent views over the Emporda and the Pyrenees. Cool alabaster walls frame the grand salon’s majestic fireplace.
Within the main villa, there are seven king-size bedrooms, each with en-suite facilities, as well as two double bedrooms and a quad bedroom that share two bathrooms. Additionally, there is a study that can be converted into an extra twin room if needed. Many of the rooms also have private terraces or balconies that offer stunning views.
Guest House One includes a king-size bedroom and two twin rooms, all equipped with en-suite facilities. It also features a spacious living room, a fully equipped kitchen, and a large, furnished terrace overlooking the gardens.
Both Guest House Two and the Guest Apartment are perfect for those travelling with personal staff or teenagers seeking their own space. The guest house features two twin rooms that share a shower room, while the apartment includes two twin rooms and one single room, also sharing a shower room.
With its spacious grounds, luxurious facilities and flexible bedroom arrangements, Villa Mas Mateu & Guest Houses is the ideal luxury property for celebrating special events or enjoying memorable holidays with large groups of family and friends.
Nb. Although Guest House Two and the Guest Apartment are comfortable, they are not of the same standard as the other buildings. Smaller groups of up to 24 guests can book Villa Mas Mateu without the guest houses.
