For those looking for a mix of privacy and proximity to a city, Villa Olive Nest is the perfect choice. Perched on a hilltop less than 15 minutes’ drive from the centre of Chania in Crete, the villa is set amongst shrubland and enjoys views over the city and out to sea.
The villa is surrounded by an extensive driveway with plenty of parking, a heliport, and beautifully-landscaped gardens. Guests can enjoy a dip in the heated swimming pool or a bathe in the Jacuzzi before lying back on sun loungers to soak up the rays, or catch up on a holiday read under the shade of an umbrella. The pool area also has an outdoor kitchen and bar, perfect for relaxes al fresco dining.
A vast terrace stretches out from the top floor and features comfortable seating and a dining table, perfect for evening meals with a view.
On the ground floor, there are several smaller terraces all with tables, hammocks and outdoor seating ideal for a morning coffee. At one end is a cinema screen for movie nights under the stars.
The villa comprises three separate units with nine double bedrooms in total, comfortably sleeping up to 18 adults. Each of the units have their own living and dining rooms, a fully-equipped kitchen, and a terrace area, making it the ideal property for groups of families and friends travelling together.
The top floor features the main open-plan living and dining area, which boasts high ceilings and full-length sliding doors along each wall, allowing light and fresh air to flow through. The comfortable lounge area has a cosy fireplace and a large flat-screen TV with plenty of entertainment facilities including Netflix, games consoles, and an iPad.
A large wooden dining table separates the lounge from the modern and elegant kitchen. The kitchen is fully-equipped with all the appliances and amenities needed to cook up a gourmet feast.
On the ground floor, each wing has its own living and dining room leading out to a terrace area and a smaller – yet still fully-equipped – kitchen. There is also a treadmill and a sauna for guest use.
All bedrooms have queen-size beds and private or shared terraces. The three master bedrooms all boast en-suite bathrooms, two with luxurious bathtubs. The remaining six bedrooms have a shared bathroom per two rooms.

About the area
Villa Olive Nest is located just outside the city centre of Chania on the Greek island of Crete. The villa is located in the quaint, family-friendly village of Perivolia, in the northern foothills of the White Mountains. The village centre with a mini market and local restaurants is just 500 m away, whilst the vibrant city centre of Chania can be reached in less than 15 minutes by car.
The village of Perivolia is home to Byzantine church ruins including The Monastery of the Holy Trinity, which is worth a visit.
There are several sandy beaches just a short drive away including Golden Beach, Iguana Beach, Agii Apostoli Beach and Nia Chora Beach to name but a few. The beaches have shallow, warm water ideal for children and many have beach bars and restaurants.
The region is known for water sports and visitors can enjoy everything from snorkelling and diving, to wind surfing and water skiing, to yachting and boat cruising.
