Chalet Peak

Lying under the world famous Matterhorn (4478m), Zermatt is an idyllic car-free town, in the German-speaking Canton of Valais. Initially a modest farming village with wooden barns and cobbled streets still seen today, Zermatt offers something for everyone. It boasts the world’s highest Glacial Palace at 3,883m, and delights visitors with its charming cobbled medieval streets lined with fashion boutiques and chocolate shops.

Zermatt is famous for its mountain-inspired gastronomy, using local, traditional and artisanal produce. Ecology is also important, with state-of-the-art solar and hydroelectric technology used to power the lifts systems and refuges.

Combined with some of the Alps’ finest skiing and summer hiking, it is no surprise that Zermatt attracts regular visitors year after year.
