One of the most exclusive ski resorts in the world
Lech, or Lech am Arlberg, is an Alpine village in Austria and a stylish ski resort located in the snowiest region of the Alps, between Zurs am Arlberg and Warth. Lech is a very pretty winter destination with many assets: It has a superb montain backdrop, it is on the banks of the Lech River and it has a splendid architecture. This no surprise that it has become for many decades a popular ski destination for royal families and celebrities such as Princess Diana, Juan Carlos of Spain and Tom Cruise as well as Olympic ski champions.
Lech also appears in several worldly famous movies such as Bridget Jones’ Diary 2.
Lech is a unique village built in the 14th century by migrants from Switzerland. Proud of their identity, locals have always wanted to preserve their tradition, which makes it such a timeless spot.
Thanks to the mechanical lifts connecting the neighbouring villages of Zurs, St Christof, St Anton and Stuben and a single pass, Lech offers holiday-makers a large skiing area and numerous pistes. There are many blue and red runs, perfect for families and intermediate skiers. Besides, Lech get lots of snow, almost 8 metres every year, which make the ski season last until late April.
Lech is also the starting and finishing point for "Der Weisse Ring", meaning "The White Ring", a famous circuit and a friendly annual race.
