Coordinating a luxury villa rental with a yacht charter on the Amalfi Coast is something we approach in four steps: we start with a villa close to the water and the right team around it, find a yacht that can meet you there, plan each move between car, dock and tender (the yacht's small shuttle boat), and give the villa team and the crew one shared plan.
Among our luxury villas on the Amalfi Coast, Villa Astor in Sorrento shows how that works. It has private access to the sea, and Marina Grande di Sorrento is within walking distance. Our team would agree the best pick-up point with your captain, then brief the villa team and the crew together, so nobody has to explain an allergy or a favourite wine twice.

On the Amalfi side, Villa Eris in Conca dei Marini has a private dock at the base of its cliffs. For seclusion, Isca Private Island is accessible only by water.
For most groups, we suggest the villa as your base and the yacht by the day, because you come back to the same rooms and the same team each evening. Day trips are also what our guests tend to prefer over a full yacht rental.
Each stretch of this coast meets the water differently, and that decides how your day at sea begins.

Sorrento has its own Marina Grande and suits days that lean towards Capri. Positano has no marina, so boats wait offshore and a water taxi or the yacht’s tender takes you out to them. Amalfi has a proper harbour, which makes boarding easier if you are staying nearby. Ravello sits high above the water, so most boat days begin with a drive down to the coast.
We would choose between these three, depending on who is coming and how they want to reach the boat.
| Villa | How the Boat Day Starts | Villa Team | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Villa Astor, Sorrento | Private sea access and sea caves at the villa, with Marina Grande di Sorrento within walking distance. Our team would agree the pick-up point with your captain. | Villa manager and housekeeping included, with a chef, butler, driver and helicopter transfers on request | Capri days, or a celebration, with 12 guests staying and events for up to 70 |
| Isca Private Island, off Massa Lubrense | From the private dock, down a long stone staircase, with beach transfers included and Capri about 35 minutes away. The island sits inside a marine reserve, so we would plan the yacht around it with your captain. | Chef, wait staff and housekeeping included | Seclusion, for up to 12 guests |
| Villa Il Sogno, Positano | Any private boat you hire can collect you at the villa’s dock | Villa manager included, with a chef and butler on request | Boarding at the villa, for a fit group of up to 12, happy with about 270 steps up from the sea. Families can ask us about the villa’s conditions for children. |
Schedule a personalised video call with our team to plan it.
Next we would ask how much time you want at sea, because this changes what we need to arrange.
| Plan | Who It Suits | What We Would Arrange |
|---|---|---|
| Villa with day charters | Mixed ages, and groups who want their own table each evening | The pick-up point, lunch and the villa team’s timetable |
| Villa with a night or two on board | A couple or small party who want to wake up in a bay off Capri | Who sleeps where, and where the boat can spend the night |
| Some days on board, then the villa | People who want the boat to be a holiday in itself | The changeover day, often a Saturday, and the transfer from the marina to the villa |

A luxury villa and a yacht are usually two separate bookings, and the hard questions fall between them. Who tells the chef you will be back at eight, not six? Who moves the driver when the boat comes in at Amalfi instead of Positano?

Keep the villa, the yacht and the transfers with one person, wherever you book. At My Private Villas, that person is the named specialist who looks after your stay, and our concierge team can arrange the yacht and brief the villa team and the crew together.
With one person holding all of that, you can leave the timings to someone else and enjoy the water.
By the last evening, the boat is back on its mooring, dinner is on the terrace, and someone at the table is still trying to name the cove from Tuesday. Tell us who is coming and when, and we will start with where the boat should meet them.

Let’s talk! Schedule a personalised video call with our team to discuss your questions.
